Produce co-op!

My friend Jenny from church has organized a produce co-op and a bunch of families are participating. For $20 a week, you get a HUGE box of all kinds of fruits and veggies, and the contents vary some from week to week. The $20 box is way too much food for our little family to eat each week, so we're splitting a box with another family and each paying $10 for half a box each week. We got our first box yesterday and I am SO excited!

3 zucchini, 1 yellow pepper, 4 oranges, 2 mangoes,
3 nectarines (one is MIA because David took it to
work with his lunch), 2 sweet potatoes, a bunch of
8 bananas (Joshie's favorite!), 3 ears of corn,
10 small yellow squash, seedless grapes (David
also got into these last night), a big bag of green
beans, a big bag of spinach, and a head of lettuce!

All of this for $10--can you believe it?!
We got a lot of zucchini (and they are HUGE!)
and squash because the other family we're
splitting with doesn't really like those...
which works out great for us
because I could eat squash and zucchini every
day and never get tired of it! Every Thursday
will be like produce Christmas morning :)

Joshua also had lots of fun learning the names of all the produce, talking about what color everything was, and counting and sorting. Thankfully he is a good eater and will most likely enjoy eating the things he hasn't had before as much as he enjoyed learning about everything!

Our ward does a similar thing. I think it is a great idea.
Your kiddos are growing up so fast. They are precious.
