Ruffly jean skirt

When Grandma Martha came to visit last week, she brought some new clothes for the kids: some polo shirts and adjustable shorts for Joshua (I am SO stoaked about these shorts because Joshie's so skinny that it is hard to get shorts/pants to stay up on his waist--these new shorts are the best!), and some cute onesie tops, a pair of ruffly shorts, and this adorable jean skirt for Leah.

I love her little chubby legs and bare feet!

Sweet smiley girl! :)

Easter weekend

We had a wonderful Easter weekend! My parents came to stay with us for the weekend and we grilled out and enjoyed produce from our weekly co-op box and went on lots of walks and enjoyed the (mostly) beautiful weather. Our neighborhood does an Easter egg hunt and cookout each year, and although the weather was a little chilly and damp on Saturday morning, the kids still had a great time! David got a few pictures of Joshua finding eggs--he had so much fun!

Joshua and Leah loved their little Easter baskets on Sunday morning! Leah got a Sesame Street bedtime book, a few small waterproof Elmo books for the bath time, and a small watering can to play with in the tub and wading pool. Joshua got sidewalk chalk, a few bug books, and colorful letters and numbers to play with in the tub. Grandpa also brought him a kite that we're looking forward to flying at the beach! Grandma and Grandpa also got each of the kids a recordable story book that Grandma recorded herself reading for them: "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" for Joshua and "Bright and Beautiful: a Child's Blessing" for Leah. Joshua has already listened to both of them about a million times!

On Sunday afternoon, we went to Durham to celebrate Easter and Brian's birthday with all the Isgetts (Brian is one of David's older brothers). We had a cookout and enjoyed the beautiful weather outside. Joshua loved getting to run around and play and visit with everyone, and Leah loved being held by so many people :) What a wonderful weekend with family, food, gorgeous weather, and the knowledge that our Savior conquered death and atoned for our sins--we are so blessed!

Joshua liked to say the color of each egg as he
picked it up and put it in the basket I held
for him; then he'd run out to find another one.

They had 3 different areas, each for a different
age group. There were only a few little ones
in Joshua's age group, so he got a TON of eggs!
We gave a lot of his candy away because we
certainly didn't need to take it all home!

blank stare to the camera :)

There's a little smile for Uncle Brian!

No smiles from you either, huh?

It is a good thing you're so cute anyways :)

Baby in shorts? WAY too cute :)

Since the weather has been so warm, we've been getting to use all our spring clothes--hooray!

Stop the cuteness. Seriously.
She's almost too adorable for me to handle.

Bare baby legs and feet are so precious!

Joshua was reading to Leah...love watching
them play together :)

Big smiles!

She makes some of the funniest faces...
all of which I'm tempted to cover with kisses!

Visitors!

We were so excited to have my friend Amanda and her daughter Marie come stay with us for a few days! They live in Virginia and we miss getting to see them regularly, so it was so nice to have them visit.

Joshua was in heaven having a little
play buddy for 3 days! Every morning,
the first thing he'd say is, "Play with Marie?!"

This picture cracks me up! Nothing actually
smelled bad, and I just happened to catch
Joshua messing with his nose, but the story
that this picture suggests is hilarious :)

Sweaty-head in the club house

"I see you, Mommy!"

Marie was a big fan of the play house

She and Joshua loved playing peek-a-boo
with the door and windows

How cute is this little one?!

Showing Leah-bug a little love

I have no idea why this is happening...
maybe they're petting her like a dog?
Rubbing her head like a crystal ball?

Whatever it was, Leah's giving Joshua
an earful about it now!

And then Daddy came home from work
and all was right in Leah's world :)

Just some April pictures

Produce co-op!

My friend Jenny from church has organized a produce co-op and a bunch of families are participating. For $20 a week, you get a HUGE box of all kinds of fruits and veggies, and the contents vary some from week to week. The $20 box is way too much food for our little family to eat each week, so we're splitting a box with another family and each paying $10 for half a box each week. We got our first box yesterday and I am SO excited!

3 zucchini, 1 yellow pepper, 4 oranges, 2 mangoes,
3 nectarines (one is MIA because David took it to
work with his lunch), 2 sweet potatoes, a bunch of
8 bananas (Joshie's favorite!), 3 ears of corn,
10 small yellow squash, seedless grapes (David
also got into these last night), a big bag of green
beans, a big bag of spinach, and a head of lettuce!

All of this for $10--can you believe it?!
We got a lot of zucchini (and they are HUGE!)
and squash because the other family we're
splitting with doesn't really like those...
which works out great for us
because I could eat squash and zucchini every
day and never get tired of it! Every Thursday
will be like produce Christmas morning :)

Joshua also had lots of fun learning the names of all the produce, talking about what color everything was, and counting and sorting. Thankfully he is a good eater and will most likely enjoy eating the things he hasn't had before as much as he enjoyed learning about everything!
